Personal Process

We must be able to let things happen in the psyche. For us, this becomes a real art…Consciousness is forever interfering, helping, correcting and negating, never leaving the single growth of the psychic processes in peace.

The sandplay journey begins with a personal process with a Certified or Teaching Member of ISST. This is preferably at least begun, if not completed, before theory seminars are attended. Certified and Teaching members can be found under Therapists.

Process can begin only after acceptance into the training program through an interview with a Teaching Member of ISST. The application form can be found in the download area. Teaching Members can be found under Therapists.

There are no particular numbers of trays required by the ISST. The requirement is simply a completed process. This is sandplay: we stay open to what develops, what grows, what emerges during our own process, just as with a client or patient. And we learn to trust this process of differentiation, healing, integration and – if we are lucky – inner knowing and wisdom. The end of a process comes, perhaps, as does the completion of a sandplay: we brush the sand off our hands, nod to the therapist and say, I´m done.
